Surface Treatment:​ To meet the rigorous demands of oilfield operations, the part undergoes Type II, Class 2 anodic oxidation.

Color Specification:​ The finish is a specific Federal Standard Blue (FED-STD-595 15092), though we can also accommodate shades 15182 or 15187​ based on client requirements.


2. Manufacturing Process

To produce this intricate geometry, our facility employs a multi-stage CNC strategy:

Precision Turning:​ We execute the primary internal and external cylindrical profiles to ensure perfect concentricity across the stepped bores.

Multi-Axis Milling:​ The part features several radial elements, including features distributed at 120° intervals, which require synchronized multi-axis machining to maintain precise angular orientation.

Complex Internal Profiling:​ The internal "Section A-A" reveals a sophisticated path of varying diameters and relief grooves that require specialized boring and profiling tools.

Thin-Wall Stability:​ Several sections of the housing feature reduced wall thickness; managing clamping pressure is vital to prevent microscopic deformation during high-speed cutting.

Deep-Hole Finishing:​ Achieving the required surface smoothness (indicated by the 63-microinch finish​ symbols) inside deep internal bores requires optimized chip evacuation and vibration-damping tooling.

Coating Allowance:​ Per the engineering requirements, all machining must account for the fact that dimensions apply prior to anodizing. This requires our engineers to calculate exact tolerances for the thickness of the oxide layer.

Geometric Complexity:​ The integration of multiple datums (A, D, E, F, G) means every feature is tethered to a complex coordinate system, leaving no room for error in setup.
